Orange-Slice Bars

Ingredients
- 1 pound candy orange slices
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 pound light brown sugar (3 cups)
- 4 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
- Directions: Cut orange slices in small pieces with scissors dipped in cold water. Add to flour and salt.
- Add remaining ingredients, and mix well. Spread in 2 greased 9x9x2-inch pans.
- Bake in moderate oven, 350F, for about 45 minutes. Cool in pans. Cut in 1x3-inch bars, and roll in fine granulated sugar if desired.
