Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups rolled oats, uncooked
- 6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375F
- In a 3 quart bowl, sift the sifted all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and granulated sugar together.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the shortening, brown sugar, egg, milk and vanilla.
- Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and mix well.
- Mix in the oats and the chocolate pieces.
- Drop by heaping teaspoons onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
