This recipe collection began as a way to back up my mother's recipe collection that she has collected in a black binder since the 1950's. Maggie and I are also adding recipes that we want to keep track of, so this will become our family go to location for storing and finding our recipes

Applesauce Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups applesauce, unsweetened
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 3/4 cup raisins
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup melted butter
  • 2 1/2 cups flour

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375F.
  2. Mix baking soda into the apple sauce.
  3. Combine raisins with 2 tablespoons flour.
  4. Mix sugar, cinnamon, apple sauce mixture and butter.
  5. Add raisins.
  6. Mix in 2 1/2 cups flour slowly until combined.
  7. Bake at 375 degrees F until done. (Inserted tester should come out dry)
