Ingredients
- green food coloring
- tiny multicolored candies
- red cinnamon candies
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 egg
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- confectioner-sugar frosting
- green food coloring
- tiny multicolored candies
- red cinnamon candies
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Cream butter; add sugar, vanilla, and egg; beat until light. Add sifted dry ingredients.
- Chill for several hours, or until firm enough to roll.
- Roll to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut with floured, Christmas-tree cookie cutter.
- Bake on cookie sheets in moderate oven, 325 degrees, for about 8 minutes. Cool on wire racks.
- Tint frosting green, and decorate trees with frosting and candies.
