Sugared Nuts

These cinnamony nuts make a sweet gift for a favorite teacher or neighbor. You may want to make a double batch so there'll be plenty for your kitchen helpers to nibble on too.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg white
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 cup almonds
- 1 cup pecans
Direction
- Preheat oven to 300F. In a mixing bowl, stir together sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.
- In another bowl, gently mix egg white and water, then stir in the nuts.
- Pour the sugar mixture over the nuts and stir until evenly coated.
- Spread the nuts on a wax paper lined baking sheet. Bake for 30 minutes. Allow to cool for a few minutes before removing from the baking sheet.
