Ingredients
- 1 pound lard (2 cups)
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 eggs
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 6 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup milk, if needed
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375F.
- Beat lard and sugar together until light and fluffy. Mix in eggs, flour, salt, and vanilla.
- If dough is too hard, add up to 1/4 cup milk.
- Fill cookie press with dough and shape onto ungreased cookie sheet.
- Optionally, brush the tops of each cookie with and egg white and water mixture.
- Bake in 375 degree preheated oven; baking time will depend on the cookie press blade used. Cool slightly, then remove from sheet with spatula.
