Ingredients
- 1 cup butter or margarine
- 1/4 cup confectioner's sugar
- 1 tablespoon water
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 1 cup chopped pecans (Chop fine)
Directions
- Melt butter in small saucepan; remove from heat.
- Stir in 1/4 cup confectioner's sugar, water and vanilla.
- Gradually blend in flour then pecans to make a pasty like dough.
- Pinch off dough, about a teaspoonful at a time and roll lightly between the palms of hands, into finger-like strips about 2 inches long. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and curve into crescents.
- Bake in a slow oven (300–325°F) 20 minutes, or until delicately golden.
- Remove carefully from the cookie sheet, dust with confectioner's sugar while still hot.
- Allow to cool then dust again with confectioner's sugar, to make a generous white coating.
