Norwegian Cardamom Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cup flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom, seeds
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg
Directions
- Sift flour; measure. Sift again with baking powder and salt.
- Remove shells from seeds; crush seeds.
- Cream butter or margarine. Gradually add sugar, working until fluffy.
- Beat in egg.
- Stir in flour mixture and cardamon seeds. Chill several hours.
- Start oven 375F or moderate.
- Divide dough in thirds, roll out one third at a time on floured board to 1/8" thickness. Cut in diamond shapes.
- Bake on ungreased baking sheet for 10 minutes.
- Decorate with confectioners' frosting and edge with chopped nuts.
