Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cup flour
- 2/3 cup pecans, peanuts
- 1 cup butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
- Sift flour; measure. Chop nuts fine.
- Cream butter or margarine. Gradually add the sugar, continuing to work until fluffy.
- Add salt, vanilla and flour. Mix well. Stir in nuts.
- Start oven 400F or hot.
- Break off small pieces of dough and roll between hands into shape of candy canes.
- Bake on ungreased baking sheet for 10-12 minutes.
- While warm, roll in confectioners' sugar or cool and frost with confectioners' frosting.
