Nalbone Family Recipes

This recipe collection began as a way to back up my mother's recipe collection that she has collected in a black binder since the 1950's. Maggie and I are also adding recipes that we want to keep track of, so this will become our family go to location for storing and finding our recipes

Rosie's Cookie

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Start to Finish Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 7 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 2 teaspoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract, or vanilla
  • 5 cups flour
  • 5 teaspoons baking powder

Directions

  1. Combine, roll and bake in oven at 375F.
  2. In a large bowl, cream eggs and sugar.
  3. Mix in oil, milk and vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, wisk together flour and baking powder.
  5. Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients.
  6. Dough should be glossy but not sticky. If dough is too sticky add flour a little at the time.
  7. Pinch off a small golfball size piece of dough. Roll dough with hands to form a 8" rope.
  8. Shape into bows, braids, knots,"s" shapes, or any shape you desire..
  9. Place on either ungreased or parchment lined cookie sheet. making sure to keep 1" between cookies on sheet.
  10. Bake at 375 degrees F for 15 - 20 minutes. Cool on a rack.

Serving Ideas: Serve with an anise flavored iceing.
